Eyvind Earle Inspired Travel Line

I am a HUGE fan of Eyvind Earle and decided to research and concept this travel line based on the production work he did for the movie Sleeping Beauty. When pulling the production art, I researched the aurora borealis. Not a lot of people are aware of the fact that Aurora is Beauty’s true name. I was actually a little surprised to see that the color palette was actually lifted from the phenomenon. I know, it seems obvious now but clearly I had never given it much thought!

I chose the idea of a travel line having spent so much time traveling for work and bemoaning the lack of really cute, cohesive on-board gear. Suitcases are one thing but actual items to use on the plane was another. There were great quotes to incorporate throughout the product line:

1. passport holder: “Well, I’m really not supposed to speak to strangers, but we’ve met before.”

2. flight pillow: “and from this slumber you shall wake, when true love’s kiss, the spell shall break”

3. hardware: “Thou sword of truth, fly swift and sure, that evil die and good endure!”
