My creative brief called for trend, surface design and product development of athleisure design capsules for Champion, mid tier and mass and Victoria Secret’s Pink. Creating graphics and prints using iconic elements for Minnie Mouse, Ariel, Bambi and Tink while minimalizing or eliminating use of character all together, ages up the designs for the adult market.
Emphasis on Minnie’s bows and dots using her traditional black, white and red palette with a turquoise pop.
Sketchbook Bambi ages up the look with antlers and hooves woven into prints while underlining Bambi’s ties to nature with blossom pink and earth tones.
Silhouette Tink always plays out well and her wings were perfect for use in abstract prints which push the program towards a sportier look.
Ariel lends herself well to a softer, sun faded beach style popped with teal and orange.
The mass portion of the Champion program features primary colors and simplified prints and graphics:
Simplified, iconic use of character throughout prints and graphics
Ombre coloring appeals to current athleisure offerings while updating through use of patterns and graphics.
